Back in August we learned that Eminem had officially started working on his next album, and since then he’s been making his presence known here and there. He jumped on 5o Cent‘s My Lifetrack with Adam Levine (and they shot the video in Detroit), and we also got to hear him on that trippy little Rihanna track, Numb. But we still haven’t heard much about the new album, until now. The president of Shady Records is speaking out and confirms that the album will be released this year, post-Memorial Day.
Hypetrak has the deets:
“In a recent interview with Billboard, Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg revealed that Eminem’s upcoming solo studio album is set to release sometime following Memorial Day. Rosenberg shared that Eminem is ”far into the process” of recording his untitled eighth studio album…”
And here’s what Rosenberg had to say about the new album release:
“We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.”
So it sounds like we can expect the album between the end of May and August of this year. And Em‘s album isn’t the only one Shady Records is dropping this year– Yelawolf, 50 Cent, and Slaughterhouse are all expected to have big releases as well. I’m excited to hear a new Em album soon, but I kinda want hear this new Yelawolf too! This could def be a big year in music!
